Home Renovations Savings
As of January 2025, homeowners in Ontario can access rebates of up to $10,000 for installing solar panels and battery storage systems through the Home Renovations Savings program. To qualify, the home must be connected to the Ontario electricity grid, and various eligibility criteria must be met.
Battery energy storage systems: Up to $5,000
- $300 per kWh of installed storage capacity
- Must be paired with a new rooftop solar panel system, with rebate amount capped at 50% of total project costs.
Solar PV Panels: Up to $5,000
- Rebate calculated at $1,000 per kilowatt (kW) of installed generation capacity.
- Must be installed on a rooftop, with a rebate amount capped at 50% of total project costs.
- Net metering is not permitted.
